A re-roofing of a manufacturing hall, replacing a worn flat roof with a new membrane waterproofing system over the working facility. The project is currently underway.
The brief
The hall stays in production during the works, so the roof has to be stripped and re-covered in sections that are made watertight each day without interrupting the operation below.
What we did
How we did it
Survey & plan
We surveyed the existing roof and planned a phased build-up that keeps the hall watertight day to day.
Phased strip-out
The worn covering is being removed in sections sized to be re-covered within each working window.
New waterproofing
Insulation and a new membrane system are being laid, with flashings and outlets renewed.
Drainage & completion
Roof drainage is being brought up to standard as each section is closed in.
Where it stands
Work is progressing section by section, keeping the facility in production while the roof is replaced; completion and handover are scheduled within the current programme.
